ABOUT SHOEBOX AUDIO
ShoeBox Audio is a boutique audio studio which specialises in Foley, audio post production services, and mixing audio and music for film – from stereo to Dolby Atmos. We also provide music and other recording and production services, and digitise analogue and early digital audio formats.
The studio is owned by Duncan Lowe, who has over 25 years of experience as a studio owner and sound recording engineer.
Duncan has a well earned reputation for doing high quality work and has been involved in 500+ music projects and many audio post projects. In collaboration with Kimmo Vennonen of kv productions, Duncan has consulted on acoustics for a number of local and regional entertainment venues, places of worship and home project recording studios.
Duncan reads and recommends Viz magazine and likes cups of tea with choc ripple biscuits.

Shoebox Audio was established in May 2026. It evolved from Infidel Studios, which opened on Gilmore road in 1999 by Paco Villegas when he moved his music recording work out of his garage. Duncan started at Infidel when it opened at Gilmore road in 1999, managed the studio from 2000 and assumed ownership of the business in 2002.
Infidel Studios had a long history of serving the music scene in the Canberra region. Over its time at Gilmore road, the studio developed a reputation for producing high quality and reliable recordings. The studio attracted many renowned music artists and producers from across Australia and internationally, including Richard Lush, Safia, Harris Johns, and Ken Stringfellow.
In 2017 the studio expanded into a second floor of the building with the construction of the rooms that are now ShoeBox Audio. These new spaces were built to address Infidel Studios’ move into services beyond music, reaching into film audio post-production and archival audio digitisation services.
